Donor Highlight: Steve and Mary Ellen Melaragni

Steve and Mary Ellen have been long time supporters of Bridges Homeward, going above and beyond to partner with our Young Adult Supported Living Program renting 6 apartments to young adults connected to our Foster Care program, as well as in making many financial contributions over the years to support the agency’s important work across Adoption, Foster Care, Family Support & Stabilization and Developmental Disabilities Programs.  Steve and Mary Ellen's generosity as landlords and partners of our Young Adult Supported Living Program have provided the opportunity for Young Adults in Foster Care to feel at home in a safe and stable living environment while working toward their educational, vocational, and personal goals. Their generosity and patience have remained steadfast, and we were proud to honor them with the Ted Rose Outstanding Service Award in 2020.

When we asked them what they love about Bridges Homeward and why they have supported us for so long, they noted “For over 10 years we have proudly supported Bridges Homeward serving young adults in our community.  During this time, we have worked closely with the dedicated staff and witnessed many young people grow into independent and productive members of society. Our commitment to this partnership is rooted in the shared belief that investing in our youth is vital. The work that Bridges Homeward provides to young adults and families empowers them to be successful members of our society.” We are so grateful for their long-time financial support and commitment to the agency and know that so many young lives have been improved due to their involvement.
