Donor Highlight: Peter Sturges
We were very excited to host Peter Sturges long-time supporter of our Developmental Disabilities Programs. Mr. Peter Sturges came to our office in September to hear in person about all the amazing work of our DDP team. In honor of his brother Morris, Mr. Sturges and the Alice Morris Sturges Fund at the Cambridge Community Foundation, have been generous donors for many years, helping to ensure individuals with disabilities can thrive at home with their families.
Program Director, Brenda Beaton, remarked, βIt is an honor for Sheila, Heather, Lidia, Danielle, and me to be able to support the individuals and families in our program and it is the funding from the Alice Morris Sturges Fund which provides the opportunity to support them even more.β
The Bridges Homeward Developmental Disabilities Program serves over 500 individuals and their families every year providing training, advocacy and social opportunities. DDP staff work in partnership with the individuals as they identify their goals and work towards achieving them. We are the DDS Family Support Center (FSC) for the DDS Charles River West Area Office offering information and referral services, training, activities and case management to DDS individuals who live in Cambridge, Somerville, Waltham, Watertown and Belmont. We also offer a range of services through partnerships with the Department of Early and Secondary Education, we offer an Intensive Flexible Family Support Services (IFFS) Program, and a Agency with Choice (AWC) program that allows an individual and the family to be engaged in more decision-making to identify the services and support which the individual will receive and the staff who will provide them
We welcome you to learn more and support our incredible programs and staffing serving those with Developmental Disabilities and their families. Please help! Become a monthly donor.
