#ThankYouFriday: One Simple Wish!

One Simple Wish is an online platform that helps fulfill the wishes of youth in foster care. An agency can publish a child’s wish, like a new bike or an iPad to help them in school, and generous donors can grant that wish, making the lives of youth in foster care a little better.

We recently posted a wish request on One Simple Wish for one of our youth in Intensive Foster Care, Fred, age 12. Fred, a very smart and active kid, came to the United States a year ago and has been in foster care for four months. He's having a hard time getting used to being in foster care while also still acclimating to the US, which is completely new to him.

However, Fred is doing super-well in school, making all A's and B's. He has also grown to love sports in America. He plays lacrosse and has enjoyed making friends with his team mates. But the sport he loves most is football, and his favorite team is the Patriots.

Fred often talks to us about how the Patriots inspire him, and how much he wants to see them play. So we posted a request for Fred on One Simple Wish, to get tickets for him and his foster parents to go to a Pats game. Within a week of our posting it, Fred’s wish was granted by an anonymous donor!

We are blown away by this generosity. Thank you so much to the person who granted Fred’s wish! And thank you to One Simple Wish for making it all happen. We can’t wait to hear about how Fred enjoyed the game!
