Putnam Place Resident Samiir Featured in Silver Lining Mentoring’s Mentee Spotlight

Recently, Putnam Place resident Samiir was featured in Silver Lining Mentoring’s Mentee Spotlight, a section on their website where they highlight youth who work with their mentors. Samiir reflected on his experience working with his mentor Steph. When Samiir met Steph, he was going through a hard time and wasn’t sure if he’d get through his internship program. But Steph listened to his concerns, and encouraged Samiir to keep going. He finished his internship, and thanks to her support, Samiir was inspired to apply to college. He was admitted to over 15 colleges and universities!

Samiir just graduated high school this May. Several pieces of his writing have already been published in Boston’s Teens in Print newspaper, and he’s planning to attend UMass Boston in the fall. We’re very proud of the amazing progress he’s made!
