Bridges Homeward Receives $11,000 from Cambridge Community Foundation to Fight Food Insecurity

We’re pleased to announce that Bridges Homeward has received an $11,000 grant from the Cambridge Community Foundation! This gracious grant is one of 17 distributed to support the urgent needs of families in Cambridge, Somerville, and Medford. These needs include food security, homelessness prevention, emergency childcare, and technology for remote school or work.

Thanks to Cambridge Community Foundation’s continuous generosity, Bridges Homeward can assist persons with disabilities and their families served by our Developmental Disabilities program who are experiencing food insecurity. We will use these funds to purchase supermarket gift cards for those families to buy groceries. Our Developmental Disabilities program provides social opportunities, training, and advocacy for individuals with disabilities and their families to ensure they have the life skills needed to thrive together.

Cambridge Community Foundation was able to distribute these funds thanks to the Massachusetts Executive Office for Housing and Economic Development (EOHED) & Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD) Community Foundations Grant Program for COVID-19 Relief.

Thank you to Cambridge Community Foundation for this generous grant. The Foundation serves the city of Cambridge through a variety of outlets, yet their common goal of bringing shared prosperity, social equity, and cultural richness to Cambridge acts as their anchor. Thank you for believing in Bridges Homeward!
