Adoption Staff Attend First Adoption Matching Event in Over a Year

This National Adoption Month, we are so grateful we could recently join our longtime partners the Massachusetts Adoption Resource Exchange and Jordan’s Furniture at our first adoption matching event in over a year! This October, we joined MARE and other agencies at an Autumn Meet & Greet, hosted at the Jordan’s Furniture Store in Reading, MA. To keep the event COVID-safe, attendance was by registration only. Jordan’s and MARE worked very hard to create a socially distanced, safe event that was still fun and enjoyable, and we think they succeeded!

Adoption matching events are one of the most effective ways we find adoptive families for children and teens. Although our adoption matching efforts have not slowed down in the pandemic, it was refreshing to meet prospective families for the first time face to face again, rather than online. By getting creative and remaining persistent, we have supported adoption matches through some of the most uncertain times in the pandemic. As things continue to change, we look forward to connecting with adoptive families in all sorts of ways!
