3-year-old Jayden Adopted by Paternal Aunt

Jayden, Zorie, and two members of their family

We’re so excited to announce that 3-year-old Jayden was adopted by his paternal aunt Zorie at the end of July! Jayden has been in Zorie’s care for a little over 2 years, and knows her as his mother. Zorie was so excited that her adoption of her son could go forward during this time of uncertainty, when the courts are closed and many administrative processes are slowed down.

Kinship adoptions are a really important way to keep adopted children connected to their biological families. They can also produce great results for permanency for youth in foster care. We’re very glad to see that Jayden will have the support of a loving family who he is also biologically related to, and we know that in Zorie’s care, he’ll go very far! Congratulations to this wonderful new family!
