Taylor Jonak Promoted to Young Adult Support Manager

Taylor Jonak has been an integral member of our Family Support & Stabilization (FSS) team for several years now, and recently she was promoted to the role of Young Adult Support Manager! Keep reading for a short and sweet interview with Taylor about how she approaches her job.

What does your new job entail?

I supervise the staff in FSS’s Independent Living and Young Parents Support programs, and oversee all the administration for those two programs.

How long have you worked at CFCS?

I have worked at CFCS for almost five and a half years. I started as the Life Skills Case Manager in the group homes. Over several years and different positions, I have found my way to this spot.

What’s your favorite thing to do at your job?

My favorite part of the job is definitely connecting with the clients. Now that I do less direct work with clients, I get to be a second set of eyes and go in to support the great work the Support Specialists are already doing. I also, at times annoyingly, love to act as an unofficial copy editor to correct people’s spelling and grammar.

Do you have a philosophy/motto with which you approach your work?

Nothing occurs in a vacuum. All thoughts, behaviors and decisions come from somewhere, and it’s our job to get to the root of it. I find that looking at things through this lens helps me to remain empathetic, even outside of work.

Do you have a goal you want to achieve at CFCS?

I would like to finally get my LSW. I’ve been talking about it for years and it’s time for me to put the pedal to the metal.
