Taylor Jonak Becomes Our Support Specialist for Independent Living

We’re excited to announce that Taylor Jonak has transitioned from being the Life Skills Manager for our Residential Services program to being the Independent Living Support Specialist for our Family Support & Stabilization program! Taylor has worked at CFCS for five years, and she served us well as the Life Skills Manager for our group homes before stepping into this role. We’re very pleased she’s going to be working with the residents in our Independent Living program!

Taylor’s transition is the latest development in the Independent Living (IL) program’s move from Residential Services to Family Support & Stabilization (FSS). Our FSS Program Director Nanci Lytes oversaw IL before joining FSS, and brought the program with her. Now, Nanci oversees the operations of IL, and our FSS team works to ensure our IL residents gain the skills and access the resources they need to be successful.

Recently, Taylor was kind enough to sit down with us for an interview about working at CFCS and what she’s looking forward to in her new role.

Tell us a bit about yourself!

I graduated from Stonehill College where I studied psychology and criminal justice. Throughout that time I worked with at-risk middle school students and lived in a house dedicated to environmental and social justice. I started working at CFCS soon after graduation in 2015.

What are you looking forward to in your new position?

I look forward to supporting the rapid growth that the IL program has experienced over the last year, and bolstering the permanency work with our transition age youth.

What do you like most about working at CFCS?

I love the small community feeling. Programs at CFCS don’t act as silos, and are always eager to share information, resources and support.

What you like to do in your free time?

When I’m feeling creative I like to make jewelry and watercolor paintings. I’m also always on the hunt for a delicious meal, so give me all your restaurant recommendations!
