Celebrating The Ertsos Family’s Adoption
We were so excited to celebrate the many adoptions finalized on National Adoption Day last month! It warmed our hearts to see families brought together through adoption finally become "official" in the midst of the all the turmoil we’ve experienced this year. We’re excited to share the stories of those adoptions on this blog.
Today, we want to give a shout out to the Ertsos family. When Matt and Kate Ertsos decided to adopt, they began their adoption journey with The Home for Little Wanderers. Meanwhile, CFCS was busy working with Lily, Russell and Colton, three siblings who were living in separate foster homes and were in need of a permanent family. We knew the siblings could grow up together, and began searching for a family able to welcome all three kids into their lives. Through collaboration between CFCS and The Home for Little Wanderers, we were able to match Matt and Kate with Lily, Russell and Colton, and the five became a family! Their adoption was legalized on November 13, 2020 over Zoom.
Our partner organization, the Massachusetts Adoption Resource Exchange (MARE), produced a video sharing what the Ertsos family’s virtual adoption looked like from their home and interviewed them about their adoption experience! The video became part of the National Adoption Day presentation and was shared across the state. Check it out:
Congratulations to the Ertsos family! We’re so excited for your future together.
