Mother's Day at CFCS

On May 23, seven excited moms (with kids in tow) came to our office in Cambridge to celebrate Mother’s Day. Our Family Support & Stabilization staff had carefully planned the event for all the moms in our Young Parent’s Support Group.

Each FSS social worker contributed something special to the event. Jessica did manicures for the moms, and Karmen provided facials. There was karaoke, and the gift bags included makeup, water bottles and other fun goodies. Social worker Queila made scrapbook pages for each family to fill out, featuring a cute polaroid of them together. There were also games with prizes, including a boom box and some coveted gift cards. But maybe the best part of the day was the moms’ chance to catch up and relax with each other.

In planning this event, it was important for us not only to give these wonderful moms a chance to celebrate but to help them feel special, too. They work very hard to take care of their children and loved ones, and we want to make sure they get taken care of, too. We’re already looking forward to next year!
