A New Bike for Justice

Justice, with his new bike

Justice, one of the older youth in our Intensive Foster Care program, has been having a good summer despite the larger circumstances. He graduated high school in June and got a steady job. He’s starting to get ready to move out of his foster family’s home and into his own apartment in an Independent Living program. And he’s been spending a lot of time with his siblings, who all live in different foster homes but still remain close with him.

With all these new developments, Justice needed a better way to get around town than just relying on the T; he needed a bike! So we made an ask on his behalf on One Simple Wish, a website that allows donors to fulfill specific needs for youth in foster care that agency funding may not be able to cover. Thanks to a generous anonymous donor, we were able to buy a bike for Justice!

Now, Justice’s days are easier. He’s able to commute to and from his job in under 30 minutes, and he travels to his siblings’ houses faster than ever before. He’s excited about all the extra time he gets to spend with them, as his biological family is very important to him. We’re so proud to see Justice continue to build his own financial stability and his own permanency, and we’re glad he has a new tool to help him work toward his goals a little easier!
